LA City Attorney Candidate Hydee Feldstein Soto Reports Over $235,000 Raised in First Five Months of Campaign

Attorney and Community Leader sprints into the race for City Attorney.

Hydee Feldstein Soto has dramatically increased her profile in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s race, raising more than $235,000 against a fundraising goal of $200,000, with more than 400 donors in her first reporting period.

“I am so grateful for the support I received from friends, neighbors, and everyday Angelenos who want a City Attorney with the experience and skill to build real solutions to our toughest challenges,” said Feldstein Soto, adding “I am very excited by the momentum we are building on all fronts of this campaign and am just warming up for the primary now less than a year away.”

Hydee has also satisfied nearly all requirements to qualify for the City of Los Angeles’ candidate matching funds program, a process that she expects to complete once the qualification period for the ballot opens in November.

Hydee was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and moved to the United States at the age of 17 to attend Swarthmore College and Columbia University School of Law. Following graduation from law school, she moved to Los Angeles, which she has proudly called home for nearly 40 years. As a Latina attorney, Hydee worked hard to earn respect and recognition in what was an almost entirely male dominated industry. She facilitated multi-billion dollar transactions and some of the most complex and high-pressure business negotiations of their time. Dozens of times during her career, Hydee was the lead attorney on transactions larger than the annual budget of Los Angeles and also served at various times as practice chair, managing other lawyers, experience that stands her in good stead to manage one of the largest municipal law firms in the country – the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.

Hydee built her professional reputation on getting things done when the stakes were highest, as one of her longtime clients said — “When something simply must not go wrong, you turn to Hydee.”
